Protecting the Environment

We at Schildberg Construction Company, Inc. believe environmental stewardship is an important responsibility. Managing water quality is one of our greater tasks. All of our quarries are governed under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES). Each quarry has at least one and some have two NPDES Permits. Links to these permits can be found below.

Iowa NPDES Permit No. 5

Iowa NPDES Permit No. 3

Missouri NPDES Permit MO-G49

At our Iowa facilities, storm water discharge is regulated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources NPDES General Permit Number. 3. The applicable Iowa facilities that discharge pump water are also regulated by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources NPDES General Permit Number 5

The Graham Quarry in Missouri is regulated under the Missouri Department of Natural Resources NPDES MO-G49 permit.

Sites with a stormwater (NPDES) permit are required to develop, initiate and maintain a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). All sites regulated by these permits require regular storm water inspections to assess the effectiveness of the site’s SWPPP. All regular inspections known as Annual Comprehensive Site Compliance Evaluations” have been completed for fiscal year 2021.
